10-foot shipping container
The 10-foot shipping container measures 2.99 m long by 2.43 m high. It is used for its mobility, storage capacity, and small footprint.
Our customers also use it in storage facilities to offer alternatives to the 20-foot container .
Discover the advantages of this 10-foot storage container below:
Price : Its unbeatable price guarantees you maximum storage space at a very competitive rate. Contact our advisors for a personalized quote including transport and installation.
Capacity : A 10-foot container is half the length of a 20-foot container. Specially manufactured 10-foot High Cube containers with a total height of 2.90 m (30 cm taller than the standard version) are available .
It’s rather unusual to find 10-foot shipping containers; however, we also offer the possibility of acquiring storage containers of this size. These 10-foot shipping containers are shipped in pairs (DUOCON 20-foot double door), equipped with bridge fitting locking systems, and can advantageously replace a 20-foot container, identified by the term 22G1 in the context of maritime transport.
Versatility : The 10-foot dry container is highly mobile and can be transported by air using specific fastenings (eyelets, twistlocks, etc.). We call it a 10-foot DNV container or offshore container. It is frequently used on oil platforms or on the decks of certain ships. It can also be used via traditional sea, river, rail, and container barge routes. The 10-foot container is also available as a 10-foot refrigerated container, the ICE10, for storing your food products or goods at various positive or negative temperatures.
Durability : Small compared to a 40-foot container , its construction is identical to shipping containers. The difference lies in the reduced thickness of the metal sheets (1 mm vs. 1.6 mm) and the flooring (21 mm vs. 28 mm). The walls are corrugated to stiffen the ISO container, which features two robust front doors that open 270 degrees. An Easy Opening Door version (with an extended handle on the right-hand door) is available, making opening and closing easier compared to the standard two locking mechanisms.
Security : The container provides a secure location for your goods and equipment. Cutting through the CORTEN steel walls is difficult without an electric or plasma cutting tool. Protect your equipment safely in one of our containers.
For example, one of our clients who installs solar systems protects their electrical equipment in this type of container during deployments abroad or in fixed locations for the implementation of autonomous site management.
Multimodal : If you intend to use it for worldwide transport, it’s best to opt for a 20-foot shipping container for export or freight. Shipping companies will require conventional transport or the use of a 20-foot flat rack container, significantly increasing transport costs, which can sometimes quadruple. A CSC (Convention on Secure Containers) certificate is mandatory for maritime transport with a container (whether it’s the first or last voyage).
All our containers without exception are CSC certified with a validity period of 12 to 60 months.
Modular : The 10-foot container is frequently converted for our clients wishing to provide a space-saving or transportable pop-up point of sale at tourist sites, container-based fast food outlets, or container ticket offices. Our clients use it as mobile storage for their construction sites, as well as in workshops with sturdy, special container shelving for easy access to their tools while keeping them protected.
On your construction sites, it can be easily moved with the help of a forklift, telescopic handler or crane truck, allowing it to be placed wherever you choose.
Compliance: Our containers comply with international standards:
- The ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standard for our 10-foot (12G1) containers is as follows: ISO6346 (container identification code) and ISO1161 (container dimensions).
- CSC (International Convention for Secure Containers) certification imposes rules regarding the approval and quality of shipping containers.
- The BIC CODE is the unique identifier for containers.
- The CSC safety approval plate , in the form of a rectangular stainless steel plate measuring at least 200 mm x 100 mm.
- The words “CSC SAFETY APPROVAL “, with a minimum letter height of 8 mm, and all other words and numbers with a minimum height of 5 mm are stamped, embossed or indicated on the surface of the plate in any other permanent and legible manner.
- All characters must have proportional width and thickness, they must be durable and of a color that contrasts with that of the container.
If you want to increase your storage space, the 20-foot container is the solution.
